At present, we pay about 14 billion francs a year to import energy from abroad. Domestically produced energy would significantly improve the foreign trade balance. Even today, Switzerland is home to world-leading companies specialising in photovoltaic systems, wind turbines and hydroelectric plants. Renewable energy is a huge global market offering great value creation and umpteen thousand new jobs.

A problem must be identified before it can be solved. Businesses, the general public and politicians must be told that the end of the oil era is looming. They need to know what consequences can be expected without a timely transition to renewable energy.
It is the desire of «energy for future» to utilise existing technologies, to inform people and, at the same time, to point out the realistic opportunities that accompany this energy revolution. The foundation also seeks to provide opportunities for concrete measures.
